About this Event

Marathon, Half Marathon,10K, 5K, and 1 mile races in Cassadaga, New York on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

This race is on!  Covid protocols will be outlined in the Athlete Guide, coming soon.

Enjoy this challenging course as it rolls along the three lakes of Cassadaga. Flat beginning and ending with a challenging group of “bumps”  in the middle.

The Mary E Seymour Memorial Free Library of Stockton & Cassadaga is in need of funds for a large construction project. Grants have been obtained and the work should start soon but there is still a large amount of local funds needed. This is a fundraiser event to help with those costs.

Super soft race t-shirts, freshly catered meal, fully stocked aid stations, STBC Beer Zone, two live bands, and fire pit if it’s a chilly day. Massage therapist on site.

Did we mention that this course is hilly??  Train for the hills and challenge yourself with those ups and downs, especially for the Half and full Marathon.   The course is on paved roads the entire way.  No cut off times!

LOCATION:
Race start and finish at the Cassadaga Beach on Park Avenue, Cassadaga, NY

PARKING:
FREE parking available at the Firehall (across from race site) and at the E2CC Boces (1/2 mile walk). There will be NO parking at the race site.

COVID PROTOCOLS:
Masks will be required pre and post event for all participants.
Masks will NOT be required as you run the race.
Masks and social distancing will be required by all spectators.
Extra hand sanitizer will be placed around the race site and at all aid stations.
Limit of 200 participants to follow state guidelines. That number will increase if state mandates allow.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Saturday – 4p – 8pm – Packet Pick Up at race site (not mandatory)
Sunday – 6:30am-7:45am Check-in open for all distances at the race site.
**Please note that there will NOT be race day registration to allow for Covid protocols.
7:45am – Athlete meeting for all distances at the Start/Finish Line
8:00am – Marathon start
8:05am – Half Marathon start
8:10am – 10K start
8:15am – 5K start
8:20am – 1 mile start

CHANGING YOUR DISTANCE:
You are permitted to change the race distance that you have signed up for PRIOR to race day ONLY! No refunds if going down in distance, rate difference for going up in distance.

MARATHON SPECIAL NEEDS BAG:
If you are racing the Marathon – you are welcome to bring a bag that will be available to you at the turnaround which will be at the Start/Finish Line.  There will be a drop off location near the check in table on race day.

ON COURSE SUPPORT:
Fully stocked aid stations roughly every mile with Hammer Nutrition products, water, candy, fruit, pickles and more.
Portable restrooms will be available at the Start/Finish Line as well on the course at 3 different locations.

COURSE:
Start and Finish at the Cassadaga Beach. This is an out-and-back course with all courses traveling the same route. Turnarounds will be marked for each distance.

It is your responsibility to know your distance and be aware of your turnaround spot.

All turnaround spots will have volunteers marking down bib #’s. Results will be verified before posted that all runners reached their designated turnarounds.

  • From the start line, travel along Park Avenue
  • Left turn onto Dale Drive
  • *1/2 mile turnaround spot for 1 milers
  • Right turn onto Glasgow Road
  • *1.55 mile turnaround spot for 5K’ers
  • *3.1 mile turnaround spot for 10K’ers
  • Right turn onto Darby Switch Road
  • Left turn onto Spoden Road
  • Turn around #1 half way down hill and head back up towards Darby Switch Road
  • Right turn onto Darby Switch Road
  • Right turn onto Glasgow Road
  • Turn around #2 is near Fredonia-Stockton Road
  • Straight back along Glasgow Road to Dale Drive
  • Left turn onto Dale Drive
  • Right turn onto Park Avenue
  • Finish line for Half Marathon’ers
  • Turnaround for Marathon’ers and Special Needs Bag location
  • Marathon participants will complete this entire loop twice.

DRY BAG DROP OFF & MEN/WOMEN CHANGING TENTS:
Large blue tents available at race site. Dry bags can be dropped off and labeled at check in.

DIVISIONS & AWARDS:
Top 3 Overall Male & Female for each distance
Top 3 M/F Age group winners, 10 year age groups, for each distance.
Due to Covid, no podium ceremony. Winners will be announced and
individualized certificates will be emailed to each winner in each category above.

POST RACE:
Race T-shirts
Beer Zone supplied by Southern Tier Brewing Company (must be 21 years of age)
Fire Pit if it is a chilly day.
Food will be provided by Super Duper Catering. All participants will receive a free meal and additional items will be available for purchase to you and your spectators.

On site massage will be provided by Kevin of Adaptive Massage. $1.00 per minute, payable directly to Kevin via cash or cc.

RULES:

  • Covid Protocols will be outlined in an updated Athlete Guide that will be published closer to race day.
  • Only registered athletes on the course.
  • No offensive, intimidating, or dangerous behavior will be tolerated.
  • No dogs permitted.
  • Races held rain or shine. There is NO refund for this event or bib transfers. However, with ADVANCE notice, you may defer to another Wilson Endurance Sports event or next years race. You must speak with Tonia Wilson directly via email at tonia@coachmarkwilson.com or 716-353-1288.
